East Lothian Community Hospital

The East Lothian Community Hospital (ELCH) is a 3-story hospital based on the grounds of the former Roodlands hospital site in Haddington. The hospital includes all services provided previously in Roodlands and Herdmanflat Hospitals. The new build is also able to support patients previously in Haddington Care Home, Crookston Care Home, and Midlothian Community Hospital.

IV therapy
Shared Therapies Department (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Music therapy)
Extended out patients department to include mental health, children’s services, phototherapy service
Pharmacy
Step-Down Care
Medicine for Elderly Ward
Dementia Ward
HBCCC (Continuing care for Elderly Ward)
RVS Cafeteria with open courtyard and seating.
Patient Sanctuary room and garden

An Arts and Therapeutic programme of works are ongoing and January will see the installation of some fabulous artworks including an atrium structure and wall art.
