Induction Information
Medical Staff Inductions at the Western General Hospital are held on the first Wednesday of February, April, August and December. This takes place in the Paderewski Lecture Theatre on the 4th floor of the OPD building from 8:30am to 11am.
These inductions are compulsory for medical staff who are new to the Western General Hospital or are returning to NHS Lothian and have not attended an NHS Lothian Induction within the last 2 years. If you have attended an NHS Lothian Induction within the last 2 years, you are not required to attend.
Here you will meet the Education Co-ordinator and Associate Director of Medical Education for the Western General Hospital, a member of the Western General site management team as well as hear from our Pharmacy, HAN and IT teams and learn about our antimicrobial and antibiotic policies.
You will receive an ID badge form and map of the hospital as well as system log-in information (if required) on completion of your Information Governance e-learning. Your TRAK access will also be given on completion of the TRAK Rapid: Doctors module on Learnpro.
You can obtain your ID Badges from the Security Office in the Anne Ferguson Building, Monday to Friday, 10am to midday, and 2pm to 4pm.
