Trainee committees and groups
Trainee committees and groups
There are a number of trainee committees and groups within SESSA. Each is there to advocate for you, provide opportunities for non-clinical curriculum outcomes and support you through your training.
The SESSA Trainee Committee
The trainee committee is a group dedicated to representing trainee interests at regional training meetings, advocating for trainees, and supporting and guiding trainees through training red tape.
SQuARes Net
The SESSA Quality, Audit and Research Network is the regional Trainee Research Network (TRN). Here to help you with all things QI, audit and research and to run national projects within SESSA.
Post-fellowship group
The post-fellowship group is all trainees who have completed their FRCA Final examinations. Teaching is organised on a regular basis.
Other groups
There are a number of other committees and working groups within the region that have trainee representation, mostly through the trainees committee. These include:
The Welfare Group - Manages welfare issues, mentoring and support for all anaesthetists in SESSA.
The Specialty Training Committee (STC) - A committee of the lead trainers (TPDs, college tutors etc) within the region that meet regularly to discuss training matters.
The Anaesthesia Specialty Group (ASG) - Committee of permanent members of the anaesthetic department staff in RIE that meet regularly to discuss specialty related matters in the Royal Infirmary. Senior trainees are often invited to attend as observers.
